MASVINGO - A Mushagashe man has won a protection order from the Civil Court against his brother’s son who conducted day-long prayers with his wife in a locked room.
Masvingo magistrate Sibonginkosi Mkandla last week granted Vitalis Makomeke a protection order against his brother’s son, Peter Makomeke, whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife.
The affair was allegedly held under the cover of worshipping.
Makomeke dragged Peter before the courts after he suspected that his cousin’s son was ravishing his wife, his mother according to tradition.
He says he once tried to stop them but they became violent and threatened to beat him up and chuck him out of his home.
Peter routinely visited the homestead every morning to spend the whole day praying with the wife, while the hubby was away at work and the children were at school.
Makomeke, who works for the Cross Border Transport Association and frequents South Africa and Zimbabwe, said he was shocked that whenever he came back from work, his son would leave the house.
The court was told that the son even attempted to boot out Makomeke from his homestead at Farm 24 Mushagashe, about 40 km west of Masvingo city.
Magistrate Mkandla ordered Peter to stay away from Makomeke and his wife Loraine, as well as to stay away from the couple’s homestead.
