HARARE - Bulawayo house group Djembe Monks and 263 Chat creator Nigel Mugamu, DJ Ray Dizz and ZiFM Stereo DJ Jason Le Roux have been appointed Shoko Festival ambassadors
The four personalities join dancehall star Darlington ‘Dadza D’ Zhanje, dynamic songstress Ammara Brown, Afro-fusion artiste BaShupi, mbira queen Hope Masike, hip hopper Tehn Diamond and comedian Clive Chigubhu who were the first to be appointed by Shoko a couple of weeks ago.
In a bid to ratchet up excitement around one of Zimbabwe’s most innovative festivals, the organisers recently ran an online competition titled, ‘Who are the Shoko Ambassadors?’ The winner was awarded a Valentine’s Day afternoon out at Mekka with rapper Tehn Diamond and singer Hope Masike.
The first person who correctly guessed the just-unveiled four ambassadors on the Shoko Facebook page stands to win two tickets to a Shoko Trail gig at Londoners on February 28 that will feature a clash of two Shoko ambassadors Dadza D and BaShupi.
Apart from the free Valentine’s event at Mekka, organisers of the annual extravaganza have lined up many more upcoming events in the lead up to the festival that include comedy nights, fundays and disc jockey gigs around the capital city.
Shoko, Zimbabwe’s fastest growing international festival, which will explode to life in Harare from September.
