HARARE - Masimba Mambare is confident that Dynamos can overcome a difficult tie against Congolese side AS Vita at home tomorrow to stamp their authority in the two-legged African Champions League first-round tie.

The Glamour Boys hope to secure a comfortable lead in tomorrow’s first leg at the National Sports Stadium in anticipation of a backlash in the Congo next week.

Dynamos have not won outside Zimbabwe in their last 10 away matches.

And midfielder Mambare, who crossed the Great Divide from bitter rivals Highlanders in January and has already settled in well at DeMbare, believes the job can be done.

“We are ready for this match. We have had good preparations and we have played some friendly matches as well,” Mambare told the Daily News after yesterday’s afternoon training session.

“We have a strong squad and everyone is excited about the task ahead of us. Everyone is committed and working hard.

“If we can keep the same attitude then I don’t see anything stop us from winning on Saturday (tomorrow). We are starting at home and we should make it difficult for them by getting a healthy win here.

“I think it’s important that we register a comfortable lead. We should score as many goals as possible because we don't know what will happen in the return leg.

“And with the squad that we have I am confident we can achieve that feat. Of course matches of this nature are never easy but we are ready to fight.”

DeMbare progressed to the first round of the tournament courtesy of an impressive 4-1 aggregate win over Botswana champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs last month.
