EDITOR — The statement by Ncube-led MDC spokesperson Nhlanhla Dube disowning Edward Mkhosi and Siyabonga Malandu Ncube was immature and was written without due consideration.
Firstly, it was not necessary to respond to the statement, secondly it was misguided for MDC to disown Mkhosi who was their point man during the constitution-making process.
Edward Mkhosi was the MDC co-chairperson in Copac.
That was a clear sign of panic and confusion caused by the imposition of Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga on the people of Matabeleland South Province.
Sacking Malandu and Mkhosi shows serious shortcomings in the management of MDC affairs by Misihairabwi-Mushonga and their treasurer-general who has turned himself into a godfather of the party.
The Shona people have been sidelined in most major decision-making processes because they are deemed to be irrelevant.
Signs and symptoms of tribalism are now visible in the MDC.
The standing committee has Rittah Ndlovu as organising secretary, Albert Masotsha Ndlovu and Cotton Ndlovu as the recruitment secretary.
They also have Nhlahla Dube as their spokesperson and Paul Themba.
People are leaving the Welshman Ncube-led MDC because of his failure to discipline Misihairabwi-Mushonga, a suspected Zanu PF sympathiser.
