Macheso farewell gig at Pamuzinda

HARARE - Sungura star Alick Macheso will bid his fans farewell at Pamuzinda tonight before leaving for South Africa where he will stage several shows.

The musician’s farewell party will also feature zora star Leonard Zhakata, dancehall musician Shinsoman and Dino Mudondo.

After the Pamuzinda concert, Zhakata will perform at Tapera Bar in Kambuzuma tomorrow.

Extra Kwazvose dates Mash Central

The sungura group, made up of musicians who once plied their trade in Alick Macheso’s Orchestra Mberikwazvo, will begin their tour of Mashonaland Central tonight at Club Tipaz in Shamva before descending on Mt Darwin where they will play at Tiringidi Bar tomorrow.

On Sunday the group, that comprises Obert Gomba, Noel Nyazanda, Joel Kasamba and Francis “Franco Slomo” Dhaka, will hold a family show at Chigayo Inn along the Harare-Mt Darwin Highway. The place is popularly known as paTollgate.

Roki, Alexio to share the stage at Book Cafe

ALEXIO Kawara and Rockford “Roki” Josphats, two pioneering artistes of the urban grooves genre, will hold a joint show at the Book Café tomorrow.

The concert follows a similar show the two held at the same venue in April last year.

The Book Café on Tuesday will host the launch of Norman Masamba’s debut album, Zvebasa. Masamba, who is part of Victor Kunonga’s backing group, is regarded as one of the best guitarists on the Afro-fusion scene.

On Saturday the award-winning arts joint will host rising artist Tina Watyoka at 7pm. On the same day in the afternoon the Book Café will witness a jazz gig featuring veterans Jabavu Drive, Pablo and Frenz and the young up-and-coming Jam Signal.

Jah Prayzah at Pamahuswa

National Arts Merit Award (Nama) winner Jah Prayzah will hold a family show at Mega 1, popularly known as Pamahuswa. The Mwanasikana singer will share the stage with rising dancehall artiste Killer T.

It’s Madd Sunday at Shambare Night Club

The Mbare-based entertainment venue will host the weekly Madd Sunday feature Zion Empire hosted by DJ Cables and MC Princo while Chillspot headed by DJ Fantan will unleash several shows with DJ Nash, DJ Ohms, Sir Recardo, DJ Picarso, DJ Smalls and DJ Smash.

The open air event will also feature several guest sound systems including Mighty Ducks, Small Axe, Red Fox Sounds, Jexaous Corner, Judgement Yard and Junglers Paradise.

Mafriq to rock Red Fox

Pauline Gundidza and Mafriq along with Richie Orange will grace the acoustic night in the Redfox VIP lounge. Tomorrow  Red Fox Hotel will host Soul Jah Love’s video shoot.
