What action Tsvangirai?

EDITOR — My stomach hurts from laughing at the Daily News headline ‘Lets take action — Tsvangirai’.

The Tsvangirai that I know is not really a man of action, he is good with words though.

For several years,I have monitored his political career with mixed feelings of humor and curiosity.

I have heard him calling for “cross over” rallies and then “the final push”.

Carefully crafted themes that raise hopes and set people on the edge. Those who allowed themselves to be swayed in every direction by what he said must have grown weary by now.

I was not shocked to find out that he did not specify the kind of action he wants taken, primarily because there really isn’t anything he can do.

If there was something he could do, we would have seen it years ago. I really sympathise with him and other big dreamers.

I wonder, what kind of movies they watch because films also have an effect on an individual’s imagination. Watching the movie is in itself not a problem but believing it to be true is the source of all sorrows.

I hope he understands that the years of his repeated failure to unseat Mugabe have in many ways contributed to this conclusion. People do not want words but action.

If Tsvangirai has nothing to say, he should at least save face and remain silent until he has a working plan.

We are willing to work with him but until then he risks being categorised along with  the nation’s political clowns.

The first action politicians need to take in Zimbabwe is of becoming real and coming up with plans that actually work.

Most importantly politicians need to learn to remain quiet when there is nothing to say.
