HARARE - Renowned Nigerian preacher Termitope Balogun Joshua (TB Joshua) is heading to Zimbabwe for the first time, at least if he accepts an invitation from leader of the Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries (PHD) Walter Magaya.

Oscar Pambuka, Magaya’s spokesperson, confirmed to the Daily News yesterday that his boss had invited TB Joshua to Zimbabwe.

“As you know TB Joshua is Magaya’s spiritual father,” Pambuka said. “So he invited him to visit Zimbabwe sometime in May.”

He said Magaya is presently in Nigeria to try and persuade TB Joshua to come to Zimbabwe.

“He left yesterday (Sunday evening) for Nigeria. However, he is set to meet him on Thursday and obviously they will discuss the invitation. We expect Prophet TB Joshua to give him an answer by then but we are confident that he will accept since he is the spiritual father.

“Prophet Magaya will be back in the country on Friday and it is then that we will have a definite answer about TB Joshua coming here.”

Pambuka said the Nigerian trip was meant for Magaya to consult with his “spiritual father.”

“He usually goes to get briefings from TB Joshua,” Pambuka said. “Prophet Magaya will also use the trip to consult on the ministry.”

Magaya’s wife, “Mother Tendai”, Pambuka said, will remain behind in Nigeria to undergo prophetess training.

“Magaya’s wife will be in Nigeria for the next two months where she will be taught to become a prophetess,” Pambuka said.

A PHD member told the Daily News that Magaya had told congregants during the Sunday service that TB Joshua would be visiting Zimbabwe.

“He told us that he is leaving for Nigeria at midnight after this (Sunday) service,” said parishioner Nomsa Ndlovu.

“One of the reasons he said he was going there was that he wanted TB Joshua to come for our international concert that is likely to happen in May.

“Magaya said TB Joshua would be free and as such he had confidence that he would grace our international concert.

“He told us that the concert was going to be very big and would be attended by thousands, so he said he was looking around for a farm just near the city where we could just temporarily prepare and conduct the event. He said we could not go to the National Sports Stadium because it was too small.”

Last year, it was speculated that the famous Nigerian prophet was heading towards Zimbabwe after he indicated that he would soon visit a troubled African country, but ran into problems with acquiring his visa.

TB Joshua is renowned for making spot-on prophecies.

The Nigerian prophet foretold the death of Michael Jackson. He also prophesied the demise of former

Malawian president Bingu wa Mutharika.

The popular preacher’s stock has been rising in Zimbabwe and abroad after his February 2012 prediction that an old African leader would die within months, and 60 days later, Malawi’s President Bingu wa Mutharika, 78, died of heart failure.
