HARARE - A plane carrying President Robert Mugabe was forced to abort a planned landing in Harare yesterday due to heavy fog, landing instead in Bulawayo.
“His aircraft was forced to land at Joshua Mqabuko,” State radio Spot FM reported.
Mugabe, 90, was returning from the Vatican City where he had attended the canonisation of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII.
Mugabe, a Catholic, is subject to a European Union travel ban, but can attend ceremonies at the Vatican.
