BULAWAYO - Judging from the team's early season performance, Bosso fans have expressed confidence in controversial Blessing Chiza's prophecy that their team will win the 2014 Castle Premiership title.
The founder of Eagle Life Assembly predicted that 2014 would be a good year for Bosso to win the league trophy which they last landed in 2006.
He said the team would play well and it will be difficult for any team to beat Highlanders especially at Babourfields Stadium.
Bosso who were top of the league table last weekend dropped to second place after a 1-1 draw with Hwange at home.
After four games, the Bulawayo giants have two draws and two wins to leave them on eight points just one behind log leaders Dynamos.
The Daily News took to the streets of Bulawayo and met up with a number of Bosso fans who said the team's performance this season indicated Chiza prophecy was coming to fulfilment.
Bosso have a chance to increase the pressure on DeMbare if they beat Chicken Inn in a Bulawayo derby on Thursday.
Mlungisi Nkomo said Bosso will win the league as the prophecy cited.
"With the quality of players that we have and the coach's experience, there is a bright future ahead of the team. Performance wise, Bosso have improved from the first game and victory is certain. With the way things are going, Chiza was right," Nkomo said.
Another Bosso fan Mncedisi Sibanda said: "A prophecy is conditional which means there are conditions that are put forward for it to come to pass. It now depends on whether the team meets the conditions Chiza put for them.
“Apart from prophesy, Highlanders is certainly going to win because they managed to assemble a strong squad this year."
In his prophecies, Chiza said there are certain conditions that the team has to follow. He said the team was supposed to believe in the prophecy, never use juju and must be united as a team.
Martin Mudadi said Chiza was right because he is a man of God.
"Having been watching Bosso play for several years, I have realised that when the season starts, they are usually on fire but lose it towards the end. But I am confident that will not happen," Mudadi said.
Fanuel Mpofu said: "There is usually one game that destroys chances of victory for my team, but this year I doubt that will happen. We are going to win because we have a prophet's backing. Chiza prophesied that we would win the Mbada Diamonds cup and we did.
"Although some people despise him and say he is a false prophet, we believe Chiza was right because our team is performing extra well."
Muzi Johnny however said it is too early to even think about the prophecy because Highlanders still have many games to play.
"We can only judge the prophecy basing on the last games," he said.
Chiza once said Zimbabwe would beat Libya 3-0 in the Chan championship but Zimbabwe went on to lose 4-5 on penalties.
