Warriors a disgrace

EDITOR — Fortunes to go for two consecutive years to play on the international stage were bluntly blown away by the so-called Warriors.

I watched the match with lots of confidence believing our boys would sail through, but I was wrong.

Yes, as Zimbabweans we have every reason to be angry over their pathetic performance.

Imagine missing the church service only to go to the National Sports Stadium to rally behind our boys, only to witness what I can term a high school football team, failing to turn the tables on Tanzania for the good of their fans who had left their home only to come back with a pall face full of disappointment and with the hard earned dollar gone.

But who is to be blame? Personally I think the coach carries the heavy burden after failing to build a good combination which was supposed to be combined on merit not who knows who and plays for which club.

Relying on Dynamos build up, national team has killed the beautiful game which has massive support across the world.

Team selection should be wide not concentrate on one specific club although they are defending champions it does not automatically mean they are all Warriors’ material.

Gorowa and Pasuwa let us down big-time and we have lost confidence in their services for the National team.

I hold no grudge against these guys but I think they should be professional when national duty calls and stop favouritism against other players.

Mukamba, who I can call a Bidvest supporter, deserved no chance at all to start in the first eleven, maybe to start up on the bench was equally good if Gorowa still fancies his foot skills.

I was disappointed, so is everyone’s, dreams for the Afcon cup were buried and my question is what next?

Fifa World Cup No! That will be so huge although dreams are for free but we are far from.
