HARARE - Multiple award winning musician, Jah Prayzah has been roped in by the Miss Zimbabwe organisers to record and perform the pageant’s theme song.

The song titled Tsvarakadenga was recorded last week and will be available to the public on the day of the pageant.

“I composed the song and it is an honour that the organisers
approached me to do so. It shows that the country appreciates me as a musician and it is reassuring to my career. The song will be unveiled on the day of the pageant and I am the one to perform it,” he said.

This year’s pageant is going to be a commercial one as seen by the organisers’ desire to only engage the corporate world.

“It is strictly by invitation and we are selling tables to the
corporate companies. We are doing it this way because we want to engage people that can assist the girls,” said Mary Mubaiwa, chairperson of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust.

Trevor Dongo has also been roped in to provide live entertainment on the day.

“Trevor will be singing live as the girls take to the ramp, while Jah Prayzah is performing the time song for the pageant,” she said.

Miss Zimbabwe 2014 will take place on June 14; it had been put on hold in 2013 while the pageantry’s organisers changed hands.

The three winners, Miss Zimbabwe and her two princesses, will also walk away with brand new Chevrolet cars.

Four hundred and fifty guests are expected to attend the black tie event to be held in the capital.
