HARARE - Reggae crooner Mike “MicInity” Madamombe will perform at Mutare’s Courtauld Theatre tomorrow night as part of his current nationwide tour.
MicInity, who rocked Masvingo early this month, will share the stage with Guspy Warrior, Mutare’s Jusa Mupostori, Appie T, Benji Tee and Digital One Sound International.
The Freedom singer, who last performed in the Eastern border city more than two years ago, is popular for his “old school” lovers’ rock reggae and dancehall covers.
Stuts Angie, MicInity’s publicist, told the Daily News yesterday that the Marondera-born artiste was determined to make up for his long absence on the Mutare entertainment scene.
“It has been a while since we last performed in Mutare, and we feel that our fans in the town deserve a good treat,” she said.
“MicInity promises his multitude of fans in Mutare nothing but an electric show. It will be the hottest reggae explosion Mutare has ever seen.”
MicInity’s spokesperson added that the reggae artiste was using the nationwide tour to bring the sparkle back into music career after long break away from the stage.
“Tomorrow night Mutare will witness a revitalised MicInity. We have embarked on a nationwide tour to celebrate his return to the stage. The Mutare and Masvingo shows are only the beginning.”
After the Mutare concert, MicInity will descend on his hometown, Marondera, on Saturday night for a highly anticipated gig at The Rat and Mouse Night Club.
McInity, who walked away with the Best Reggae Artiste of the Year Award at the 2013 Zim Dancehall Awards, is also celebrating the return of the popular “Weddy Weddy Wednesday” sessions now dubbed “Rub-A-Dub Wednesdays”.
The popular midweek concert, formerly hosted by the Book Café, will be held at Misty’s Bar in Newlands, Harare, from July 2.
