HARARE - Two popular Botswana artistes Slizer and Charma Gal are set to clash in Zimbabwe for the first time next month.
Slizer’s manager Gift Petros confirmed the development, saying Slizer is coming for a month’s tour in August where she will market her latest album Bazooka and a DVD, while the Chika singer is coming for some concerts with Jah Prayzah.
“We have planned a concert featuring Slizer and Charma in the country and both parties have agreed,” said Petros.
However, the organisers are still planning the exact date and venue.
“Slizer’s countrywide tour will be held between August 7 and 31, while Charma Gal and Jah Prayzah shows will run from August 22 to 24.
“Hence we are still deciding on the actual date,” said Petros.
Jah Prayzah said they had discussed the Zimbabwean tour with Charma Gal.
“We have discussed such an issue with Charma Gal but I am not aware of this development of them sharing the stage with Slizer,” said the Tsviriyo singer.
On August 1, Jah Prayzah and his Third Generation band will be performing in Botswana where they were invited to grace Culture Spears’ album launch.
Charma Gal featured on Jah Prayzah’s latest album Kumbumura Mhute.
Charma Gal, real name Magdeline Lesolebe-Chagwa, is one of Culture Spears’ lead vocalist.
The group is helping Jah Prayzah to penetrate the Botswana market.
Both Botswana divas are not new to the country as Slizer, real name Naledi Kaisara, and Charma Gal have performed here several times.
Slizer recently gave a well polished act in Masvingo at a charity concert featuring Suluman Chimbetu while Charma Gal last came to Zimbabwe early this year during the launch of Jah Prayzah’s latest album.
