HARARE - Dynamos defender Partson Jaure set the tone ahead of a potentially explosive clash with CAPS United by warning the Green Machine that their recent fine form will not guarantee them success on Sunday.

The Harare derby, which is set for the National Sports Stadium, has become an even more eagerly anticipated encounter given that both sides are tied on the log table with 26 points.

The Green Machine seems to be moving with a spring in their step and will go into Sunday’s match high on confidence after a good run that has seen Taurai Mangwiro’s team win all their last four matches.

“These type of matches motivate us,” Jaure told the Daily News yesterday. “It’s a big game for us and everyone is working hard at training, preparing for the big match.

“They are playing well but we are not reading much into their form. We are only focusing on our game. All we want is three points on Sunday, even if we play badly. Beating CAPS is all that matters.

Jaure also urged the club’s supporters to root behind the team.

Some sections of the DeMbare supporters have a tendency of turning against their team when the tide is going against them, but Jaure says that risks putting the team under pressure.

“We want our supporters to come in their numbers and rally behind the boys,” he said.

“We need to win the two back-to-back matches against CAPS United to place ourselves in a good position for the championship. We can only achieve that with the help of our fans.”

The last time the Green Machine beat DeMbare in the league was way back in 2009, when Nyasha Mushekwi struck a memorable brace before his move to Mamelodi Sundowns the following season.

The Green Machine appear more determined though, to stop the tide this season, judging by the high morale in their camp.

Calisto Pasuwa, however, appears to have the more balanced team following the return to the fold of several players who had been sidelined, either through injury or suspension.

Murape Murape will be available for selection after recovering from an injury picked up in DeMbare’s 2-1 win against Black Rhinos last week, which gives Dynamos the experience and stability they need.

The Glamour Boys will still be without injured midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike while striker Anesu Gondo is also down with injury and will not be available for selection.
