GWERU - Barely two months after releasing a compilation album which featured the jazzy song Kuregera In Advance, Worship Addicts have returned with a live DVD album titled Worship Altars.
The live DVD — recorded at Heritage School in Harare’s Borrowdale Suburb on June 29 — will be launched in August and it features the group’s popular tracks from its previous albums like Show Me Your Face, Umoya Wami Ulambile, and Prayer for Zimbabwe which has become a defacto “national anthem” in many quotas.
The group also performed Prayer for Zimbabwe on a live DVD by Zimpraise’s called It’s All About Jesus.
Worship Addicts leader Takesure Zamar Ncube is optimistic that the live DVD will effectively capture the true essence of worship.
“The video features several acclaimed songs and two new hot tracks,” Ncube told the Daily News.
The rising gospel musician added that the live DVD is meant to help his fans experience real live worship.
“I believe that the church, particularly worship, should start at home before it extends to the physical gathering of saints.
Normally, we miss God by focusing on skill at the expense of God’s presence,” Ncube
Older folks will probably be inspired by hymns like Changamire Muponesi, an old hymn which has been fused with modern beats, but still maintains its original feel.
The debut live DVD, which is coming four years after the Worship Addicts band was formed, is set to strengthen the group’s status as one of the best gospel ensembles in the country.
The Worship Addicts’ discography, that comprises six albums, includes the Worship Addicts Devotionals (Volume 1-4) and Praise Addicts.
The album features musicians like Tiyelani Chauke (keyboards), Sam Siwela (lead), Sam Tsasti (bass) and Takesure Zamar Ncube (Lead vocals).
