HARARE - Dynamos have agreed terms with South Africa’s Absa Premiership side University of Pretoria for the transfer of defender Partson Jaure.
The Glamour Boys’ secretary general Webster Chikengezha confirmed to the Daily News yesterday that an agreement between the two clubs has been reached but could not divulge the price.
The Daily News is, however, reliably informed that Jaure, who was one of the outstanding players in the Premiership since making his debut in 2012, will go to University of Pretoria for fee in the region of $80 000.
“We have agreed on a fee with the club. He is now waiting for the work permit. They had already agreed on personal terms. We wish him all the best in his new challenge,” said Chikengezha.
The 24-year-old is expected to leave the country this week to join his new teammates in pre-season training.
As of yesterday, the Castle Premiership had already issued the defender with his International Transfer Certificate to ensure that Turks can register him with the Super Diski.
University of Pretoria coach Steve Barker made Jaure his number one priority to replace Buhle Mkhwanazi, who joined Bidvest Wits last week.
Juare initially caught the eye of Barker in January when he impressed for Zimbabwe during the African Nations Championship (Chan) held in South Africa.
The DeMbare defender was one of the standout performers during that tournament as the Warriors reached the semi-finals before losing to eventual winners Libya on penalties.
Jaure becomes the second DeMbare player to join a South African club in recent months following the departure of goalkeeper George Chigova to SuperSport United.
Like Jaure, Chigova also attracted the interest of Matsatsantsa following a good performance with the warriors during the Chan tournament.
The Glamour Boys already started preparing for life without Jaure when they played a centre back pairing of Augustine Mbara and Themba Ndlovu in the 1-0 win over CAPS United in the first round of the One Wallet Cup.
