HARARE - Baltimore “Balt” Mudepu, the other half of the defunct musical duo Balt and Bert, has bounced back with a song titled Patakadana.

Balt is confident that his new single will restore the limelight he enjoyed when he broke onto the Zimbabwean music scene 12 years ago.

“I am confident that this single will make noise and pave way for the release of my forthcoming album,” said Balt.

“It has been four years since I released my last album. Patakadanana,  which was produced by seasoned producer Dickson “Bizzy Dee” Mandota, will be a forerunner to the album that I will release soon. I recorded the album at four different studios.”

According to the 39-year-old Balt, the other producers involved in his next album are Clive “Mono” Mukundu, Forward Mazuruse and Jonathan Mgazi.

Balt rose to national prominence in 2002 when he jointly released the hit song Ndinokuda with his nephew Nebert “Bert” Chikanza. The song did well on all Zimbabwean charts leading many music critics to predict a brighter future for the duo.
