HARARE - Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas is confident that his team will to bounce back to winning ways when they face Dynamos at Gwanzura Stadium this afternoon.
The Gamecocks, who have been blowing hot and cold this season, are currently in 10th place on the log with 20 points, just one above the last relegation spot.
The Bulawayo-based side have failed to collect maximum points in their previous five games, as they played to a goalless draw against Dynamos before losing in their last four games.
Antipas’ side lost all their back-to-back matches against ZPC Kariba and CAPS United.
“We have a positive mind despite facing one of the country’s biggest teams. We are ready for the game,” Antipas told the Daily News yesterday.
“Yes, Dynamos is a big team they have everything on their side, but that doesn’t mean that we are going to give them too much respect on the pitch, we have to play our normal game.
“We want to win the game, but this will not be easy. We must work harder as you know our opponents will be also looking for three points.
“Dynamos will be very motivated as they will be playing at home and we need to be at our best to beat DeMbare .
“We have to make sure we compete and perform to our highest level. Our approach should be right.”
The former Zimbabwe national team assistant coach is concerned about his side's lack of creativity in recent Castle Premiership matches.
“We are lacking creativity in our upfront. We have created a lot of chances but we failed to utilise them in our recent matches.
“If you look at our previous matches we lost with 1-0 score margin, in all these games we created meaningful chances but we were found wanting on front of the gate.”
In a bid to boost his forward options, Antipas sided striker Last Chibwiro from lower division side Black Mambas last month.
Chibwiro made his debut for the Gamecocks in the 1-0 defeat to CAPS at the weekend but could not make much of an impression.
Antipas is not happy with the overall performance of his players this season and urged them to work harder.
“The performance of the boys is not yet up to my expectations,” he said. “There is need for the whole team to work extra hard but as a club we remain positive that this losing streak will come to an end and I know my boys are hungry for success.”
Dynamos will be also aiming to bounce back to winning ways from their last weekend goalless draw against Black Rhinos in Kadoma.
