HARARE - The State has further remanded to October 30 the case in which DJ Munyaradzi Milimo is accused of allegedly masterminding the kidnapping and subsequent murder of his wife’s lover.
Prosecutor Farai Gatsi urged the courts to grant the postponement because there are outstanding results of toxicology and histology samples from a South African pathologist which are necessary for trial.
Gatsi said the docket was ready.
DJ Munya, as he is affectionately known, is jointly charged with Taurai Jani and Mohammed Matare.
He was not represented when he appeared before Harare magistrate Tendai Mahwe.
DJ Munya was granted bail in June last year after High Court Judge Joseph Musakwa ordered his release on bail.
He was ordered to surrender his passport, report to the police every Friday and not to interfere with State witnesses as part of his bail conditions.
Allegations against the trio arose after Magorimbo died due to suspected poisoning.
This was after he allegedly failed to pay DJ Munya $5 000 “compensation” for having had an illicit affair with his wife.
The court heard that Magorimbo allegedly gave DJ Munya a part payment of $1 000 through Jani and Matare in February last year.
It is alleged Magorimbo later became evasive, prompting DJ Munya to enlist the services of Jani and Matare to force him to pay.
Magorimbo went missing early May, before he was eventually seen at his flat by his wife on May 18, naked, with both hands tied with a rope.
He later died at West End Clinic, where he had been admitted in the intensive care unit.
