HARARE - Zimbabwe international forward Knowledge Musona will stay with Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim until the January transfer window opens.

Musona, who spent last season on loan at South African club Kaizer Chiefs, was linked with a move to Holland with Eredivisie side FC Twente but that move failed to materialise.

The European transfer window closed on Monday night and Musona’s representatives at Prosport International clarified the Zimbabwean’s future.

“Knowledge Musona will remain at Hoffenheim at least until December,” tweeted Musona’s agent Paschalis Tountouris on Monday night shortly before the transfer window was closed.

“The decision not to move this transfer window was jointly taken for the long term benefits of the career of Knowledge Musona.”

Prosport International CEO Mike Makaab also clarified on the issue regarding Musona’s perceived snub of AmaKhosi.

“Let's set the record straight. Musona did not say no to Chiefs, he did not want a long-term contract out of Europe. Is that a sin?” tweeted Makaab.

The Zimabwean forward is likely to spend the next six months without playing any competitive football.

Hoffenheim manager Markus Gisdol has already informed Musona that he is not part of his plans at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena this season.

Musona missed Hoffenheim’s pre-season training camp as he was still recovering from a long term ankle injury sustained last season with Chiefs.

This is why the Zimbabwean was frantically trying to find a suitor during this transfer window after his second stint with Chiefs.

Last month, Musona was spotted at La Liga side Granada where he spent a week training with the Spanish top flight side.

The Zimbabwean, however, failed to impress there before shifting his focus on trying to earn a move to Twente.

Despite the possibility of Musona spending the next few months in limbo while in Germany, Makaab feels that it will give the Zimbabwean ample time to recover and find a new club.

“He is still 6 weeks away from full fitness after his injury, so this will give him time to do this without pressure,” he said.
