HARARE - A loans clerk at Harare Municipality Savings and Credit Cooperative has been hauled before the courts for allegedly swindling the institution of over $13 000.
Memory Mubvereki, 30, is facing theft of trust property charges for reportedly converting $13 632 deposited as contributions by members of the cooperative into her own use.
She appeared before Harare magistrate Donald Ndirowei.
Prosecutor Sharon Mashavira alleged that between January and December last year, Mubvereki, who resides at Shetland Road, Queensdale in Harare, receipted money received for the cooperative.
Mubvereki was allegedly supposed to deposit the money into the cooperative’s CBZ account, but she did not.
The offence came to light when the cooperative’s finance officer was recording money that was receipted by Mubvereki.
