MUTARE - BUFFALOES have made their first signing ahead of the 2014 season by luring Warriors fringe player Frank Bushiri from Shabanie Mine in addition to setting sights on Dynamos rejects Farai Mupasiri and Tichaona Mabvura.
Watungwa Watungwa spokesperson Tendai Chitowa confirmed the capture of Bushiri, who was Shabanie’s best player in the second half of last season. He has been offered a one-year deal.
“Yes I can confirm that we have signed Frank Bushiri on a one-year contract. He is our first signing of the season and we are looking to add more players. I can’t disclose some of the players we are interested in because we are still negotiating with them.”
Chitowa also revealed that they are interested in the Dynamos duo of Mabvura and Mupasiri but are still to approach Dynamos over their services.
Attacking midfielder Mabvura, who was initially brought to Dynamos highly-rated by the then coach Lloyd Mutasa in 2011, could soon return to his native Mutare after failing to establish himself in an all-conquering Glamour Boys squad under Calisto Pasuwa.
Forward Mupasiri has also found himself on the sidelines despite making an early impression in his debut top-flight season in 2013.
The Mutare-based soldiers are now under the stewardship of former Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere.
