HARARE – Newly-appointed Triangle coach Biggie Zuze is looking forward to the challenges that come with coaching an ambitious club.

Zuze, who was linked with a move to Dynamos as Calisto Pasuwa’s assistant coach, left relegated Monomotapa to join Triangle and has already started work at the Lowveld side.

Gishon Ntini, who guided Triangle into the Premiership and coached the club last season, was relieved of his duties as the head coach following a fall-out with the team’s leadership.

“It’s certainly going to be a challenge, to maintain the success the team has had, but that’s the plan,” Zuze told the Daily News yesterday.

Zuze said taking over the reins of what has become one of the most ambitious projects in the Lowveld is a great honour.

While Triangle will no doubt be carrying over much of that winning spirit into next season, they will have to do so without doing so without some familiar faces who were key to the team’s success.

Triangle have already lost Norman Togara and his brother Pardon Chinungwa to newly-promoted ZPC Kariba.

Striker Misheck Mburayi’s contract also expired and remains unsettled, with reports linking him to Harare City, while exciting midfielder Walter Mukanga has since joined the Glamour Boys.

Despite being on the job for only over a week, Zuze is already working with the team as it prepares for next season.

“Obviously there is going to be a challenge in terms of maintaining the success but we are up for the challenge. The team showed ability in the previous year,” he said.

“There are some senior players who have left but we are expecting to tie up some deals in the next few days. We are looking forward to do well. The players and the executive are all very supportive.

“As a coach you always want to do be among the best. We want to surpass last year’s achievements. We really want to win something for the community.  People from this side love their team and they deserve to be happy.”
