GWERU - Comedians Carl Joshua Ncube, Michael Kudakwashe and Nqobizita “Q the Boss” Siziba will descend on Gweru on March 28 for their maiden show in the city.

Event organiser Muneer Walele told the Daily News that the trio had confirmed their participation in the highly-anticipated show.

“We encourage the people of Gweru to come and experience rib-tickling fun presented by Carl, Michael and Q,” said Walele.

“People in this city have long requested for the trio to come and perform for them and that is why these highly-rated comedians — who are currently on tour in South Africa — are looking forward to the March 28 show.”

Ncube, who scooped the National Arts Merit Award (Nama) two years ago, will be the host of the show in which each comedian will perform for half an hour. The organisers have lined-up a party after the show expected to spill into the morning of March 29.

In addition to showcasing new material, Walele revealed that the comedians will also avail tips to upcoming comedians.

“The comedians hope to use the show to encourage people who believe they have potential to become comedians. The performers will also give some tips on how to make it as a professional comedian in the country,” Walele added.

The Gweru show is part of several lined up by the trio in various Zimbabwean cities in a bid to make comedy a competitive form of entertainment alongside arts categories like music, dance and theatre.
