HARARE - Hwange head coach Nation Dube has stoked up the flames ahead of his side’s clash with Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.

Both teams have had a good start to the 2014 Castle Premiership season with seven points from three games.

Whoever wins this match will be guaranteed to go top of the table.

Dube is confident that the coal miners will emerge from Barbourfields will all three points.

“We don’t respect them, Highlanders is just like any other team in the league. We just want to play our normal game,” Dube told the Daily News on Sunday.

"We are expecting a good competitive match but we are happy with our preparations for the game.

“As usual we play to win but Highlanders is in good form but we are not reading too much into their game.

“We are not under any pressure, the league is a marathon so we just need to keep playing well and win our matches because it's points that matters at the end of the day.

“I am happy with the performance of the team. They are fighting for each other and we hope to continue with that spirit to the end.”

Hwange were held to a 1-1 draw by Triangle last weekend after winning their opening two matches against Buffaloes and FC Platinum.

“We never want to drop points, but things do not always go well in your work and obviously we are going to work hard for us to bounce back,” said Dube.

“The morale is high among the players and we do not have any major injuries team spirit should carry the day for us.

“Seriously we cannot travel all the way from Hwange looking for a defeat our aim is to win the game.”

Highlanders began the season with a disappointing 0-0 draw with Chapungu before picking up two consecutive wins over Shabanie Mine and Chiredzi FC.

The Bulawayo giants will be banking on their South Africa-bound winger Kuda Mahachi to inspire them to victory this afternoon.

Mahachi, who is on a six-month loan at Bosso from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, scored his first Highlanders goal in the 3-0 win over Chiredzi FC.

His goal sandwiched between an opening goal by Ozias Zibande and a stunning effort by Charles Sibanda late in the second half to give Bosso all points.
