HARARE - Zimbabwean's Courtney Lock, Alwyn Mushonga and Nicole Dzenga progressed to the quarter-finals of the ongoing ITF South/ Central African Junior Circuit Under-18 in Windhoek, Namibia.
Top seed Lock beat Timothy Dollman of South Africa, to book his place in the quarter-finals.
Dollman got off to a fast start, taking the first set 6-1, but Lock, who is ranked 224th in the world junior rankings, found his rhythm to take the next two sets 6-1, 6-2 .
Lock was scheduled to meet sixth-seeded Calvin Jordaan of South Africa in the quarterfinals later yesterday.
Mushonga also struggled to overcome South Africa’s Altus Karsten 7-5 6-0 and will now face Jd Malan of South Africa in the quarter finals.
In the girl’s category, top-seeded Dzenga beat Manuela Huckfeldt of South Africa and will now meet the fifth-seeded Louse-Mare Botes in the quarterfinals, after Botes beat compatriot Casandra Metzer 6-4, 6-1.
