BULAWAYO - Bantu Rovers assistant coach Mandla Mpofu yesterday bemoaned his side’s missed chances after a goalless draw against ZPC Kariba at Luveve Stadium.

Rovers looked the better of the sides for larger parts of the game but failed to turn their dominance into goals and eventually settled for a draw.

“At least we get a point but I am not happy with the way we missed chances. We controlled the match, created chances but failed to make it count,” Mpofu said after the match.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and see how best we can improve on these areas. We can’t anything away though from ZPC Kariba. They are a very good team with seasoned players.

“I hope we will improve soon as Bantu. We need to start picking up points. I and my coach Methembe (Ndlovu) will use our experience as we go forward”.

ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka was also not satisfied with his team’s performance.

“We didn’t play badly although we are found wanting in the final third. Our execution is bad,” Chaminuka said.

“We were hurrying most of our chances but we are however working to rectify those mistakes”.

The game kicked off at a blistering pace with both sides searching for an early opener. However it was Bantu Rovers who had the first chance at goal but Tafadzwa Kutinyu’s took long to shoot after finding space from outside the box allowing ZPC defence to clear their lines.

Tawanda Nyamandwe found himself face to face with the goalkeeper in the 22nd minute but failed to connect a Limited Chikafa cross from the right side after a swift move that involved outstanding Raphael Manuvire.
