BULAWAYO - Budding painter Godfrey Lotus Makopa and metal sculptor Abigail Mathe will begin a month long joint exhibition at the National Gallery in Bulawayo 0n July 31.

The exhibition, which will also feature seasoned contemporary painter Lawrence Bango who will be a guest artist, will seek to reflect national realities particularly the current economic challenges that are causing a lot of suffering in Zimbabwe.

“The exhibition covers contemporary issues confronting Zimbabwe, particularly the current economic challenges. To us, this show brings into focus the future of Bulawayo art. It is  being done with the support of Alliance Francaise in Bulawayo.”

The highly-anticipated exhibition will be officially opened on July 31 by Lucky Mlilo, the president of Association of Businesses Zimbabwe.

According to Zulu, Mathe and Makopa’s joint showcase will be the first in a long line of exhibitions at the National Gallery in Bulawayo that will run until the end of the year.
