EDITOR - I refer to your article on Prophet Angel. Art Katz in his book, The Holocaust: Where was God? said that the nub of all evil is the elevation of man. And he is one hundred percent correct.
It worries me greatly that people anywhere may at any time lift up and exalt any man.
We do it in politics, in sport, in the entertainment industry and even in the Church.
It is an abomination to a holy God; especially in the Church.
We need to decrease so that Christ may increase as the Apostle Paul said.
Man is created to worship and if we are not worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth we will worship something else or someone else.
A very dangerous place to be and rampant in the very place that calls itself the Church of Jesus Christ.
We have no idea what it means to truly worship in spirit and in truth and so we end up lifting up the men and women behind the pulpit.
And they end up usurping the place of Jesus Christ.
A very vicious and serious circle.
The prosperity message is indeed a false gospel. I am not here to judge Prophet Angel but I will take issue with his statement, “Show me one man of God from Genesis to Revelation who walked with God and was His friend and was poor and I will show you a great liar.”
That is an extremely erroneous and misleading statement to make.
And I would point him to Jesus who had no place to lay His head and there were many more.
The riches God is concerned with are the unsearchable riches of Christ.
Nothing more and nothing less! God is not concerned with worldly riches, only that we have enough for the day.
Some will be given worldly goods and the intention would be to share it with those less fortunate and the extension of God’s work on earth.
When I see a man arriving in a helicopter having previously boasted about the purchase of a very expensive vehicle and bragging about multi-million dollar business enterprises and having crowds of fawning congregants following after him and hanging onto every word, I begin to have a serious problem.
Each and every one of us needs a revelation of what dying to self really means.
The cross is an instrument of death. I wonder what Paul would say?
Being an expression of Christ is not about living the life of a superstar and hosting thousands of people in a lavish building do not constitute the Church.
The true Church is spiritual: the true Church is Jesus Christ Himself!
The true Church is in the heart of God’s true Church; Christ in me the hope of glory!
