HARARE - Supreme Panel Beaters have partnered World Navi Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) in an effort to bring excitement to the league by pledging to bankroll the top goal scorer award.

The top goal scorer of the month, beginning this August will receive $200, whilst Supreme Panel Beaters will also reward the Golden Boot winner at the end of the season with a $400 prize.

Yada Gunners forward Moses Demera currently leads the goal scoring standings with 11 goals going into the second half of the season.

ZRP Mambas midfielder Kasimero Chimbadzwa is in second place on nine goals whilst Gunners’ Macdonald Motsi and Ngezi Platinum’s striker Enasio Perezo are joint third on eight goals so far this season.

Motsi was last season’s top goal scorer after netting 20 goals.

NRSL chairman Willard Manyengavana heaped praise on Supreme Panel Beaters for supporting the league.

“In our last AGM (Annual General Meeting) we made it known that we want this league to be well sponsored,” Manyengavana said.

“We are grateful to Supreme Panel Beaters for the vote of confidence. We know these days there is a vote of no confidence in football but we are happy with the confidence.

“With this kind of incentive we are certain that it will push our players. We are certain we will see more goals coming not only from strikers but midfielders and defenders,” he added.
