HARARE - Popular musician Alexio Kawara, who has just turned 35, will celebrate his birthday tomorrow by holding a show at the Zimbabwe-German Society.
The Shaina hit-maker will share the stage with Diana Samkange, Ba Shupi, Cindy and others.
Proceeds from Alexio’s birthday bash will go towards the musician’s social responsibility projects.
“I invited the other artistes to help me celebrate my birthday.
“Another reason I invited them is to help me fund raise for the Tose Project that I am doing to help the children in Mutoko,” he said.
Alexio’s project is being done under the theme: Build Children to Avoid the Cost of Repairing Adults.
The Tose Project was recently kick-started at Ushamba Primary and Secondary Schools situated in the Mutoko District.
“The birthday celebration will be a way of trying to convince people to help me with my project. I am hoping that many people will realise what I am trying to do and share the same vision. I am using the platform to raise funds,” he said.
On Friday Alexio will be at the Jameson Hotel (The Usual Place) for a show.
Don Gwese, Alexio’s manager, told the Daily News yesterday that Alexio’s social responsibility initiative is centred on assisting vulnerable children.
“He is concerned about helping kids and trying to fund-raise for them. The birthday celebration will be part of his strategy to raise funds for the Mutoko children.”
