GWERU - Gweru's Real Sounds Records has included urban grooves star Enock “Nox” Guni on an album dedicated to upcoming artistes titled Riot Rhythm.
The South Africa-based Nox, who is a favourite of many young Zimbabweans, is the only seasoned and celebrated artiste on the album that is meant for 15 upstarts drawn from Shurugwi, Gweru and Kadoma.
Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma, the producer of the album, told the Daily News that the Ndinonyara hit-maker was included on the album in recognition of his well-known support for rookie musicians.
“Nox is a role model for many young musicians,” said Oskid who made a name for himself as a top-notch producer in neighbouring Botswana before setting a base in Gweru.
“I have worked with Nox a lot and I owe him big time. He is one artiste who is immensely contributing towards supporting and nurturing young and talented voices through his record company called Ice n Roses studio in South Africa.
“Most of the guys I am featuring on the album are artistes who have worked under my recording stable. I am sure these talented artistes will benefit from being part of this album.
“The exposure will definitely add value to their names and propel them to a bigger platform.”
Nox probably agreed to feature on the album because he has worked with the 21-year-old Oskid on several projects.
Oskid produced several of Nox’s hits which include Kupenga Kuti Pee, Kunyengetera and the upcoming song I Love You.
The Riot Rhythm compilation features artistes such as Legion, Elcie, Dr Cjah, Emex, Crazy P, I Kan B, Grand Pastors, Grand, Taff Geezy, Judah B and Pin 50 Earlrins.
