MUTARE – Buffaloes and Shabanie Mine cancelled each other out in a pulsating Castle Premiership match here yesterday.
The army side made their work difficult after goalkeeper Blessing Mwandimutsira punched a long and powerful Zvenyika Makonese throw into his own net without any serious challenge after just one minute.
Watungwa Watungwa, however, gave the asbestos miners, who they beat 2-1 at home in the reverse fixture, a hard time getting their equaliser in the 70th minute through second half substitute Jeffrey Takunda who volleyed into an empty net.
The equaliser was short-lived with Makonese powering home a free header off a corner kick six minutes later.
Jacob Muzokomba restored balance with a close range effort after a goal mouth mêlée with the Shabanie defence at sixes and sevens.
